Flitterby

Operated by Serious Business Software LLC · Private beta

Your files move without ever landing here.

Flitterby copies a folder from one cloud provider into another. The file data streams from the source straight into the destination, passing through memory and never touching our storage. When a transfer finishes there is no copy of your file to delete, because there never was one.

What we ask each provider for

And what we deliberately do not

Dropbox

files.content.read files.metadata.read account_info.read

Read only. Flitterby is never granted permission to write to, move, rename or delete anything in your Dropbox, so it cannot, even if it were asked to.

Google Drive

drive.file

Access is limited to the files Flitterby itself creates. The rest of your Drive stays invisible to us. This is the narrowest scope Google offers for writing files, and we chose it over the broader one that would have let us read your whole Drive.

Your passwords

Never requested, never seen

Connections are made through each provider's own authorization screen. You can revoke Flitterby from your provider's security settings at any time, which cuts off access immediately. Full privacy policy.

What Flitterby cannot do

Stated plainly, before you rely on it

There is no iCloud Drive support

Apple provides no way for a service to read iCloud Drive on your behalf. Anything claiming otherwise is using something unofficial. We would rather say so than imply we have it.

Provider limits govern the pace

Google Drive accepts 750 GB per account per day. A very large migration therefore takes days, and Flitterby tells you that before you start rather than after.

Google Docs are converted, not copied

Native Docs and Sheets have no underlying file to copy, so they are exported to Office formats. That conversion is imperfect, and we flag each file it happens to.

It is early software

Flitterby is in private testing. Keep your own backups, and verify an important migration before you delete anything at the source.
